Facebook

My youngest son, Benjamin, decided a few months ago that I should have a Facebook (FB) account.  He set it up, put some pictures on the account, told the FB community what he thought they should know about me.  When I had "friends" (people with a FB account who want to network with you) that…Read more Facebook

Snow

I'm going to admit something.  When I was growing up I always thought it would be so cool to live where it snows.  I used to think about walking with snowshoes over  wooded trails and coming inside to something hot to eat and drink.  The Quaker Oats television advertisement  caught my idea of what it…Read more Snow

Walking in the Snow

This afternoon I bundled up and went for a walk.  It's a nice sound when the snow crunches beneath your feet.  It's even better when the sun is shining brightly and the wind is calm.  With the bright sunshine and brisk pace it was a nice walk.

Musings

Wow! It was -17 when I woke up this morning. Unbelievable!! I stepped outside and a brand new sensation occurred to my still limited life experience. Bone chilling cold!! Sorry for all the exclamation points but I've never experienced anything like this. Now believe me, its beautiful. I am going to go outside and take…Read more Musings

Brrr!

Last year I made a vow not to complain about cold weather. With the help of friends and family, so far so good. I've looked for the beauty of winter. Today, the sun was shining brightly and the deep snow reflected the sunlight like sparkling diamonds. The deep paths that students from the high school…Read more Brrr!

Of course there was black eye peas, turnip greens, corn bread, salads, deserts, ham and baked…Read more Happy New Year

New Year’s Eve

It's almost unbelievable to me that this year is coming to an end. Life gets faster as you get older, my Dad use to tell me. I didn't believe it then but now I do. It is possible that life is moving fast due to the fact that life is just simply filled with the…Read more New Year’s Eve

Advent – Prepare the Way of the Lord

I was reading Isaiah 40:1-11 this morning and a couple of thoughts come to mind as we prepare for Christmas. One we are looking for the coming of our Lord with the peace and joy he has given us in new birth. We can prepare by offering the good news to others this Christmas, through…Read more Advent – Prepare the Way of the Lord

Advent – Preparing for His Appearing

"Everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory. And He will send out His angels to gather His chosen ones from all over the world - from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven." Mark 13:26-27 (NLT) By God's grace, I have determined to not allow…Read more Advent – Preparing for His Appearing

Thanksgiving Day

We wanted to be at the airport early so we could welcome our soldier home when he came up the escalators at the Atlanta airport. So we dashed off and stopped by Starbucks in Macon, Georgia and they were closed. Now, I'll be honest, normally, I really need that first happy cup in the morning.…Read more Thanksgiving Day
