“Everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory. And He will send out His angels to gather His chosen ones from all over the world – from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.” Mark 13:26-27 (NLT)
By God’s grace, I have determined to not allow the business of family, church, parties and shopping to keep me from preparing my heart for the greatest Gift of Christmas. Jesus! Jesus is Christmas! Don’t you agree?
Advent helps me prepare my heart and mind for the celebration of Christmas. There is a Christmas song that has the lyrics, “What can I give you this Christmas?” Advent helps me to make a gift of my desire and passion for for Christ! Reading the selected Scriptures and praying through them thoughtfully is like a journey back to Bethlehem! I sang this morning, Come thou long expected Jesus … from our sins and fears release us!
I’m reminded of my need for Christ’s visitation in my heart and mind. I need all that He is and gives and He needs nothing from me! Come thou long expected Jesus!
The greatest gift that I can give to Christ is a prepared heart to Him and the greatest gift I can share with you is the story of His love to us all!
Maranatha! (Come O Lord Jesus!)
