Happy New Year

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” Psalm 103:1

Happy New Year! My side of the family gathered at my nephew’s home for a huge Southern New Year’s Day feast. Of course there was black eye peas, turnip greens, corn bread, salads, deserts, ham and baked chicken instead of fried chicken. 😦 Oh, well, I’m grateful for “all that is within me.”

For those of you who have been praying for my Dad. It was good to sit and watch Georgia football with him today. He fell asleep during the game, woke up and yelled, “Go Dawgs!” It was so funny. We are not a quiet family watching football. There is yelling, jumping and sounds like barking dogs and “Hunker Down!” I love my family!

I’ve been reading a novel my son asked me to read. The title is Eragon. It was written by a teen age student. I’m amazed at his creative imagination and talent for writing. Never underestimate a teenager.

Did you make any New Year Resolutions? It dawned on me today that I’ve not made any and I’m so full and sleepy that I don’t think I will make any this year.

Thanks for your friendship and love. Thanks for those of you who have encouraged me to blog. I really enjoy this. I guess I will make one resolution. I will try to blog more often. Any suggestions?

Peace, Joy and Love in the Holy Spirit!

  1. Pastor, it sounds like you had a great New Years day with your family. Football and family….and food…..what a great combination! I am kinda glad the holidays are past us. Whenever I step on a scale after they end, it seems they are always off a “few” pounds. I’ll have to go right out and buy a new one that works. Happy New Year!

  2. HAPPY NEW YEAR,PASTOR:
IT DOES SOUND LIKE YOU HAD A GREAT TIME WITH FAMILY AND FOOTBALL AND FOOD. CAN’T FORGET THE FOOD, CAN WE? I DO WONDER HOW YOU MANAGED WITH ROCKY OR IS HE TALKING TO YOU YET. JUST KIDDING! TAKE CARE AND WE’LL BE SEEING YOU IN GOD’S HOUSE. LATER. LEROY
