This week while I was in the hospital, I felt impressed to ask one of my doctors if I could pray for them. They left the room for a few minutes and I prayed about this thought. “Lord, am I supposed to ask them this?” There was a sense of peace about this. When asked, my doctor sat down, and professed their faith in Christ. Then they began to tell me about some needs in their life. I was deeply moved by this. One that the Lord loved this doctor so much and their obvious love for the Lord. Secondly, that you can trust that God works in you to both to will and do his good pleasure. What had been an examination room was now sacred space where two believers prayed and fellowshipped together.
Another surgeon was invited in to discuss the internal bleeding that I am experiencing. He said, “I believe we can address this issue and another issue that is concerning without having to open you up..” He was so encouraging. My heart was filled with hope. I am struggling physically due to the blood loss. Pray with me for a test that I will have Friday to be sure that I am a candidate for the procedure. Even better please pray for a miracle.
From there the doctors sent me for an x-ray. Following the x-ray a nurse came in and said, “you have a very rare condition. How do you even walk?” I was able to share my testimony of God’s faithfulness. Every step I take is a witness to the goodness of God.
My heart is so full of joy and hope. I am confident of a full recovery with God’s help. I am grateful for the chance to share the story and journey with you.
“I will sing of the LORD’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.” Psalm 89:1-2
Reflect on the fact that God’s love and faithfulness are inseparable. God is faithful to us because he loves us. He loves us eternally because He never changes. God’s faithfulness does not depend on you or me. He is faithful because of His unchanging nature. Even when our faith is weak, His faithfulness remains steadfast. “God is love.” (See 1 John 4:7-21)
Remember you can trust the Lord to speak to you through His Word, a song, a sermon, a friend, and yes in your thought life. Secondly, I didn’t say, “the Lord said.” I just simply asked if I could pray with them. Most people would have said yes or no. It might have been uncomfortable. However, I had peace. The moment was supernaturally natural. It wasn’t weird at all.
I was so joyful that I made a short video. I sought the advice of people I trust before posting it. I hope it is a blessing. If so please feel free to share this post.
Grace and Peace to You!
