My Hope Is a Who!

Everyone seeks after hope. It is as necessary to our lives as food and water. Your children get higher GPA’s, with hope. Athletes perform better, recover from injuries better, and adjust mentally to change better when they have hope. Elderly people who have hope live longer than those without hope.

Hope breeds confidence to build for the future, to strive for a better tomorrow, to live out of abundance rather than scarcity. Hopelessness has no problem believing in failure, a dystopian future, and defeat.

It takes love and courage to have hope to build, strive, sacrifice, and share. Our world needs more hope filled people. Fear and slothfulness will always surrender and then your world falls apart.

The question is where do I find hope? The Bible’s answer is Jesus.

Christ Jesus our hope,” (1 Timothy 1:1, ESV)

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,” (2 Thessalonians 2:16, ESV)

I’m grateful for good clean entertainment, board games, computer games, movies. Imagine with me the revival, renewal, and the powerful conclusion to this pandemic if God’s people binged on prayer and worship. It would give us much more hope than Netflix ever could. We can pray and play. As a matter of fact I’m convinced that the family that plays together will pray together.

I pray because faith, hope and love. I’m confident and assured in prayer, thanks to God’s love, the seed of faith, and my hope in Jesus. Just try and think of where someone made a request of Jesus, in the Father’s will, and Jesus said, no. He healed all who asked. He delivered those who were oppressed. A boy’s weak in faith father asked Jesus to heal his son, and Jesus did. I’m so grateful for these stories of prayerful hope.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13, ESV)

You are not alone! Christ has triumphed over all the hopelessness of this world and you have hope in Him. Beloved , Christ Jesus is our eternal hope!

Peace!
