Deuteronomy 8:18 teaches that God gives us the power to create wealth. It’s a promise made within the context of law that honors God and protects people. Wealth creation requires the resources God gave us including our creativity and the natural resources of the earth. Just law honors God, protects the property and ideas of people, and reveals what God is doing in our hearts.
Just think of how much wealth has been generated, how many jobs have been created, and how our lives have been changed by the transformation of such a common resource as sand into a computer chip. God’s creation, human creativity, laws protecting intellectual and private property and sand becomes a component of wealth creation.
True wealth is loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and loving your neighbor as yourself. When this order is respected wealth creation results and poverty can be defeated.
