Imagine if the entire world experienced a global revival placing their faith in Jesus Christ. Imagine the life transformation of entire populations that would happen and suddenly most of the problems of the world would disappear over night. I’ve always been impressed by how great world leaders admire the teachings and acts of Jesus Christ. Of course, this is the rub.
All of the problems of the world can be traced back to the root of sin. Sin against God. None of us like to admit to sin. It’s why the Good News of Jesus must be shared more now than ever. The Good News is that God loved the world so much that He plunged His Son, our Lord into this morass of sin to rescue us.
The solution to our sin was Christ’s death and resurrection. The reason is because as John 3:16 states, “God so loved…” Again, there is a challenge, because to admit that Christ is the way, the truth and the life, is to admit that all other ways are imposters, posers, and deceivers.
When people believe and and place their faith in Christ, God comes wipes out their sin, and dwells within us. “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.,” (Ephesians 3:16–17a, NIV)
I pray for this global revival. Our world needs Jesus! However, the life change in you was real when you trusted Christ. He forgave our sin and gave us a new life. “So turn to God! Give up your sins, and you will be forgiven.” (Acts 3:19, CEV) You have a new life, your world has changed! It is as though you have moved from a dark kingdom to a kingdom of light! Come on victory!
God in His mercy did something for you, in you and He will do great things through you! He changes you and uses you to bless others around you! You see people as the object of His great love, the earth as place to steward not abuse, your vocation in life as a calling to serve Him rather than yourself, the world actually becomes a little bit better as you serve Him. You’re a world changer!
Paul Copan lists these positive changes made in the name of Christ, in his book, “Is God a Moral Monster?”
- Eradicating Slavery. (When it reemerged Christian Advocates opposed it.)
- Opposing infanticide.
- Eliminating gladiatorial games.
- Building hospitals and hospices.
- Elevating women’s status and rights.
- Promoting higher education for all.
- Great works of literature and philosophy.
- Beautiful works of art, sculpture and architecture.
- Establishing modern science.
- Composing brilliant music.
- Advocating for human rights and those in poverty.
- A worldwide, multi-ethnic community of faith.
“God our Savior showed us how good and kind he is. He saved us because of his mercy, and not because of any good things that we have done. God washed us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He gave us new birth and a fresh beginning.” (Titus 3:4–5, CEV)
I pray that you understand your need God’s wonderful gift of salvation in Christ. Further I pray that you will completely commit to His plan and purposes for your life and become a passionate follower of Christ. What will God through you? Who will He bless through you?
