“Live so that you wouldn’t be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip.” Will Rogers
Wise speech begins at home don’t you think. Our children learn how to communicate from us. Speech isn’t just about what you say, it’s how you say it as well. When a father speaks to his wife with love and respect a son learns to respect women. When dad takes time to look his daughter in the eye, mute the television (it’s more challenging than you think, especially during the game) and talk she learns to expect men to communicate with her as a person not treat her as an object. Wise speech can accomplish this.
When someone says it just words, think again. Wise words, loving words, encouraging words will reap good rewards.
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18, NIV
