Christmas is also a time when we remember the sovereignty of God. Christ was born! The sovereignty of God is one of of life’s greatest comforts to me. God is in control! The tyrants of the world like Herod who fear God’s plans are nothing before the Lord. The stories of the Old Testament show over and over how the enemies of God futilely attempted to thwart God’s plan. God always prevails!

No wonder the angel said “Fear not!” to the shepherds. It was the same thing Jesus would say to his followers “Fear not!” This Christmas season remember God is in control and Fear not! Rejoice in the sovereignty of God, unless of course you are a tyrant like Herod.
