Easter Celebration Continues

Like Christmas we will continue to celebrate Easter!  Christmas was the birth of our Savior.  Easter is the truimph of our Savior.

Yesterday was wonderful at Woodland.  A packed sanctuary, deep sense of the Holy Spirit’s presence, songs of praise and worship captured our hearts with the truth that Christ lives!   Our hearts were stirred, our eyes moist with joy as so many crossed the platform with their cardboard testimony of how Christ changed their life!  I’m smiling from ear to ear just remembering.

Why do we celebrate?  Christ has conquered death, hell and the devil.  Christ has accomplished saving grace for all who believe in his atoning gift. Because Christ lives, we too live.  Hallelujah!  (Pardon me, but this is exciting.)

The dreaded effects of lukewarm Christianity, a hardened heart, are healed as believers repent of their obsession with themselves.   Christ’s life within us heals us of a critical and bitter tongue, and fault-finding.  Instead His love growing in us enables us to see others with faith, hope and love.  We begin to see in them what God sees in them.  Our lips begin to sing His love from our hearts with joy and gladness about the redeeming grace of God and the Redeemer.

Tomorrow we will continue the celebration of Easter.  Like Christmas, this moment deserves more than just a day!

I would love to hear from you how Jesus has transformed your life.  Please drop me a line today.

Rejoice with me.  He lives!

Peace and Joy

  1. HI PASTOR, HOPE YOU DON’T MIND THE CAPS IN THIS NOTE. IF THEY SAY IT IS SHOUTING, THEN I’M DOING IT RIGHT. I JUST GOT OFF YOUR FB PAGE AND LEFT A NOTE THERE, BUT THEN YOU ALSO HAD YOUR BLOG FOR SUNDAY AND I JUST HAD TO GO HERE TOO. THAT WAS A GREAT SUNDAY SERVICE. I WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO SHARE MY TESTIMONY HERE. IT’S JUST TOO LONG AND GOES BACK TO ABOUT THE TIME WHEN YOU GAVE YOUR HEART TO THE LORD. I WILL SAY, THOUGH, THAT SEPTEMBER 25TH OF 1970 WAS THE DAY THAT GOD CHANGED MY LIFE AROUND. JUST 2 1/2 MONTHS AFTER COMING HOME FROM VIETNAM, I ASK JESUS TO COME INTO MY HEART AND I HAVE NOT REGRETTED THAT DECISION. NOW AFTER ALMOST 40 YEARS, I STILL ENJOY HIS PRESENCE. WHEN I WAS DOING MY OWN THING I DIDN’T THINK MUCH ABOUT WHETHER GOD EVEN KNEW WHO I WAS, BUT I WAS DEFINITELY WRONG ABOUT THAT. HE LET ME KNOW WITH OUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, WHO I WAS AND HOW HE CARED FOR ME. AND YOU KNOW WHAT. I’M GLAD HE DID. MY STEPS HAVE BEEN ORDAINED BY HIM AND I WILL WALK WHERE HE WANTS ME TO WALK. I WILL FOLLOW HIM. BETTER GO. THANKS AGAIN. LEROY

  2. What a wonderful church family we have at Woodland. It was such an emotional day Sunday. I’m so proud to be a part of our congregation! Praise Jesus!
