A week can bring so much joy and so much pain at the same time. During my study this week, I’ve rejoiced over the birth of beautiful little girl to a precious couple in our congregation. They are going to be wonderful parents! Our son and his bride came to dinner this week and just watching the tenderness he shows to her and her smiles at him made me want to take Becky and leave for another honeymoon for us!
So much good has happened! I received a good report for our church from our accountant. My study has opened new vistas for me. I wrote the editor of a magazine after reading a particularly helpful article his from 1996 that helped for my fall preparations. He wrote me back and sent me links to other websites that will be helpful as well.
Then this morning, I talked with one of the ministry leaders from our church. His nephew was tragically killed in a train accident yesterday. Their family is devastated! He had to go help his sister identify the body today and the pain in his broken voice has led me to grieve throughout the day with him. They need our prayers and love!
The Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of water that give life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:17 (NCV)
Peace and joy in a time of sorrow!
HI PASTOR, I KNOW YOU ARE BUSY BUT WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT CRAIG DID GREAT ON HIS POEM AND A PRAYER FOR ALL THAT ATTENDED THE FUNERAL TODAY. HE WAS STRONG AND PRAISED THE LORD FOR ALLOWING ALL WHO BELIEVED TO BE STRONG ALSO. THE MINISTER WHO OFFICIATED WAS FROM KENTUCKY AND A RELATIVE TO EDDIE GROSS AND FAMILY. THEY HAD WELL OVER 200 PEOPLE ATTEND. AS THE MINISTER SAID” IF EDDIE COULD SEE, HE WOULD KNOW THAT HE WAS LOVED”. I ATTENDED FOR CRAIG AND MARY AFTER CRAIG LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENED ON THURSDAY SO WE ALL COULD HOLD THEM UP IN PRAYER AND SENT WORD AROUND TO DIFFERENT CHURCH MEMBERS TO NOTIFY OTHERS TO PRAY. THAT’S ENOUGH FROM ME . GOT TO GO. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS. TALK LATER. LEROY.
