A few minutes ago, I prayed with a friend who is a godly pastor. When he asked me to pray for him, immediately what Jesus said in John 14:23, came to mind. “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.” (John 14:23, NLT)
Just the thought that God makes His home in us, thrills me beyond words. Think about it, God wants to fellowship with you. What an amazing honor! We can talk with Him at anytime about our joys or sorrows, our hopes or disappointments, the beauty and the ugly we see, we can bless and lament and know that He listens and answers.
Woodland is in the first week of 21 days of prayer and fasting for our friends. We are not making a big deal, we are just talking to Jesus about our friends. Today, I went for a long walk just to talk with the Lord about a number of things, pastorally. People, ministries, missionaries, our Woodland Church family, and our community. The peace and power of God encouraged me while I walked and prayed. We are praying for God’s blessings and peace. In so many ways, I am looking forward to hearing about the answers to our prayers for our friends.
What are you praying about for your friends? How can I join you in prayer?
Peace!
