I’m Not Myself by Myself

“There can be no maturity in the spiritual life, no obedience in following Jesus, no wholeness in the Christian life, apart from an immersion in, and embrace of community. I am not myself by myself.” Eugene Peterson

We need one another in the body of Christ. We help one another grow in faith, friendship, and partnership in the Gospel. The people that I do life with share my laughter and tears. They share my successes and failures. They share them with joy and without condescension. They are there for the good times and bitter times. In everything they help me stay focused on God’s love and purpose for life.

  • We back one another up.
  • We build each other up.
  • We lift one another up in prayer.

“It’s the greatest gift in life to be fully known and loved,” a friend said to me yesterday.

“Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.” 1 Corinthians 13:7

Thanks for being my friend!

Peace!
