Merry Christmas from our family to yours! It was a wonderful Advent Season, topped off by Christmas Eve Services last night at Woodland. It is one of my favorite services of the year. Last night was no different! Here at home, Christmas Day has been more like the days of yore. With three little grandsons, one is a baby and the other two have been in top gear since they woke up. It has been fun opening gifts. Nolan and Davin were my “elves” eagerly passing our gifts until they received one. Then everything stops while they open their gift. I have laughed and just been so very happy having our family home.
Just a thought from Scripture for you today. Jesus said to Pilate just before his scourging and crucifixion, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world to bear witness to the truth.” (John 18:37) Beloved friends, there is Christmas all wrapped up once again.
God Incarnate Here to Dwell. Christ’s conception was a miracle. His live did not begin at conception. He has always been. “Before you created the hills or brought the world into being, you were eternally God, and will be God forever.” (Psalm 90:2, GN)
His virgin birth, means Christ came into the world. God became one of us. Emanuel, God Incarnate, Here to Dwell. He always was, is and will be forever more. One day every tongue will confess to the glory of the Father that Jesus is Lord! (See Philippians 2:11)
Why? To save us from our sin. We need a Savior! “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 (KJV) If we didn’t need Jesus God wouldn’t have sent Him. Jesus reveals to us what God is truly like. As Luke wrote in the Scriptures, “He went about doing good and healing all were oppressed by the devil.” (Acts 10:38)
Rejoice God loves you! Don’t just take that for granted. God really loves you. If you doubt it remember Calvary!
Merry Christmas, Pastor Sunday morning and Sunday Evening Services were a Blessing to me and I was so glad Brandon and My Granddaughter, Kayleigh were able to attend the Candle Light Service. Kayleigh said on the way home, that the singing made her cry. She was singing along even though she really didn’t know all the words. She’s got a tender heart that will lead her to Jesus somewhere down the road. Especially if we can be involved in her going the right way. Thank You for being our Pastor and the Shepherd of the Woodland Flock. God Bless You and your Family and Happy New Year. LeRoy and Kathy Paige
