Incense Laced Prayers

It’s been an enjoyable holiday today.  I got up this morning at 4:30 and enjoyed the chilly stillness during my Quiet Time.  (It’s been chilly in Michigan today.) Mondays are always welcome. Reflecting over the weekend, I give thanks for those who crossed the line and committed their lives to Christ, the gathering of our congregation to worship the Lord,  all the ministry opportunities of the week before and looking forward to this weeks as well.  Monday through Friday, I pray through our church’s DREAM.  Today was about the Discipleship of our congregation.  I had read an interesting passage from Revelation 8.

“He [an angel] was given a great quantity of incense so that he could offer up the prayers of all the holy people of God on the Golden Altar before the throne.  Smoke billowed up from the incense-laced prayers of the holy ones, rose before God from the hand of the angel.” Revelation 8:4, Message

I bowed on my knees to offer my prayers and in my mind I imagined beautiful and fragrant prayers of Woodland rising up before the Lord.  I prayed that the Holy Spirit would move up each one who calls Woodland Church their home to lift their voices in prayer and worship unto the Lord today.  Imagine the prayers of hundreds of people from our community ascending before Him today.  Prayers of adoration for His revelation in Christ and the Bible, prayers of intercession for those in need, prayers for lost loved ones, praying His will into our community.  I cannot express to you the thrill I felt with that image in my mind.

Would you lift up your voice in A.C.T.S. prayers of adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication throughout the day?  Would you pray for me that love, boldness, wisdom, and power would be given to me as I preach and pastor in Christ’s name in our community?  Thank-you.

I would love to hear from you, that you are praying with me.

Grace, Peace and Joy to you in Christ!
