Do you ever wonder why the Scripture refers to the Spirit of God as Holy Spirit? The Bible commonly refers to the Father or the Son but the Spirit is the Holy Spirit. Perhaps because He brings forth the fruits of holiness in our lives, works holiness through our being and makes us together a gathering of a set apart or holy people.

I find myself praying before bed tonight breathe on us Holy Spirit. Produce in us the fruits of your Spirit. Make our families and churches temples of your presence. Empower us to bring the works of Jesus to our scarred and fallen world. Make us holy! Amen.
