You can be Honest with God about Your Emotions

Jeremiah, David, Habakkuk, are men of God who honestly expressed what they felt to God. Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentations, a book of wisdom and great faith due to his honesty with God. David, with his poetic pen wrote psalms of great joy and love, pain and suffering expressing his honest emotions. Habakkuk cried out to God questioning His judgment but always knowing that God loved him and his people.

There are times in life when we rejoice and when we weep. Just as prayer should be joy and delight, there are times for grieving, for asking for help when our faith is weak.

Wherever did the lie come from that we could not be honest with God? God listens to our prayers. Confident that He listens, we can be confident that our Father, can handle any emotions we may be experiencing. When we are honest, we experience His peace.

Take your burden, cares, anxiety, whatever to the Lord. “Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift your hands to him in prayer.” Lamentations 2:19

If you feel like you’re in over your head in torrential storm, worship the Lord with honest lament. You will receive his comfort and care.

Peace!
