Purify My Heart

refiner fire

Purify my heart; Let me be as gold and precious silver

Purify my heart; Let me be as gold, pure gold.

Refiner’s fire. My heart’s one desire

Is to be holy; Set apart for you, Lord

I choose to be holy; Set apart for you Lord

….Ready to do your will

Refiner’s Fire by Doerksen

I long for renewal and revival in my life, our community and churches. A renewal that flows from the heart of God through His appointed means of godly preaching, teaching and application of the Bible. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace. …  The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.” (1 Timothy 1:2 & 5, NLT)

Grace, mercy and peace is His desire for us. God who gives grace (the gift of what I don’t deserve), mercy (not giving me what I do deserve) and peace (wholeness, congruency, contentment, blessing, His friendship) adopts as His own children through Christ. As we apply or obey His Word, He helps us live by the power of His presence within us.

I cringe and shudder when someone says or thinks of another, “They won’t change.” “Ha!” runs through my being. God is still changing lives today. Forgiving sins, he makes us a new creation in Christ. At Woodland there are a lot of men and women whose lives have been dramatically, sometimes drastically changed, or more correctly, made new by the grace of our wonderful Lord! Friend, passionately follow Christ and you will change!

So prepare your heart for renewal if you long know God better! Sing with me, Purify my heart, and don’t be surprised if God speaks to you about your motivations, habits or that secret sin that you think you’ve hidden from Him. He breaks bondages, removes heavy yokes, and He will do it for you. Don’t be afraid, let him make you as gold, pure gold.

  1. Ask God to fill you with love that comes from a pure heart.
  2. Trust God that you will continue to grow and mature daily in the likeness of Christ.
  3. Write a prayer using 1 Timothy 1:2 & 5 today.
  4. Leave a comment for me at the end of this post, if you liked it to remain private, just let me know.

Tomorrow, A Burning Question.

Peace!
