You’ve Got to Dream!

Healthy people dream! Really! Every night we go to sleep and our bodies go through cycles of sleep where we dream. Dreams help us deal with the negative junk in our bodies and minds. Colorful dreams let us fly over mountains and valleys seeing everything in rich and vivid colors. You do spectacular things, impossible things in your dreams. You don’t have to remember them to receive the benefit of dreams.

Having a dream for you life will help you achieve more and overcome the negative issues that each of face in life. A dream will lead you to take thoughtful risks. A dream will encourage you. So what is a dream. There are many definitions to be found, but here is mine.

A godly dream is a vivid picture of the future that fulfills you while building others up!

It’s not a self-centered consumer dream or an idle daydream. It’s not hoping for something good to happen despite the negative circumstances. It is a vivid picture of the future that you plan and work to make happen that overcomes despite the obstacles in your life.

God has placed a dream within all of us, the apostle Paul wrote “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10, NLT) God created you as his personal masterpiece to do good things. His plan is to prosper us and give us a hopeful future. (See Jeremiah 29:11)

So start thinking, writing, and prayerfully writing your dream. It will take time and thought but there is a dream within you. Don’t give up until you can write it down, because once you can write it, you can see it!

Peace!

  1. Hi Pastor:

Isaiah 43:1. Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have summoned you by name, you are mine.

I love that verse…… We don’t have to fear because God has saved us, called us by name. We are saved…….. We are his……..if that is what we choose. That is what I choose.

I was saved in the summer of 1968 at church camp. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was real. I was changed and I’ll never forget it. In all the many years, since I was 13, I did for awhile stray from God and do my own thing and go my own way, but fortunately God is a forgiving God and is faithful to forgive us of all our sins if we only confess them to him and ask for forgiveness. So, for this I have repented and am forgiven and am experiencing Jesus as the joy of my salvation and the Lord of my life.

So about my dream…….. My dream is to be able to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to all people I come into contact with in a strong, compassionate and courageous way. Sometimes this goes well and sometimes I miss chances. This is my dream……..to be a strong and courageous witness for Jesus Christ.

    Thank you Pastor for reading.
