Where Successful Youth Ministry Begins (Part Two)

It’s a feeling that every Dad understands.  Your baby is placed in your arms and you look at him/her and everything in you says I’m going to love you, protect you, provide for you and love your Mom with everything I’ve got.  Then it dawns on you, God has trusted you with this new life!  Everything changes!

God has called parents to disciple their children.  To teach them to love God and worship Him with everything within them.  Parents model for their children what God is like.  Children are guided by discerning, loving parents.  “Fathers don’t exasperate your children by coming down hard on them.  Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.” Ephesians 6:4, Message

God trusted you with them.  You provide for them, you love them, you would die for them.  So when your children ask you, “How can I love God with all of my heart?”  What will you say?  I want to encourage you.   God trusts you to teach your children how to love Him.  They will thank you.  Your youth pastor will thank you.  The kids they reach for Christ will thank you.  And one day God will say, “Well Done!”

Your pastor and youth pastor are praying for you and all of heaven is pulling for you.  God entrusted your babies to you for this.  Hell trembles at parents who love God like this.

“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4–9, NLT)

Peace!
