The Moments I Remember

Last week, these words flowed unplanned but sincerely out of my heart. “My time is more precious to me than money.” However, the best times in life are those moments that haven’t been planned in detail or called for a purpose. Those are happy moments that I reflect on often.

  • Praying together with a friend about a decision, opportunity or a hurt in their life.
  • Sitting by the fire reading with my wife.
  • My son and I sitting on the deck talking about a memorable time in his life.
  • My grandson pulling up a stool while I shave and tell me about his dreams.
  • Friends knock on our door with a box of Frosted Mini Wheats and a gallon of milk. We sit on the deck eating the cereal with tablespoons full of milk laughing like children.
  • Making a random phone call for no reason to reconnect with an old friend.
  • Reading the Bible and suddenly you know God is speaking to you.
  • Singing a worship song and feeling like heaven has just opened up.
  • Drinking hot chocolate, watching the stars come out while you listen to the waves crash on shore with your children.

God gave us the gift of Sabbath to worship, rest, and be renewed. It’s a gift that you can enjoy with all of its serendipitous moments if you trust Him to take care of the world while you rest!

Peace!
