Pray for Israel

The world suddenly changed as Hamas funded and directed by the government of Iran savagely attacked Israeli children, women, and men. The last account was over 800 civilians were murdered and women and children taken hostage to protect the cowards of Hamas from Israel’s response. How do we respond as Christians?

We pray, advocate, remember, and show our support for Israel. “Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.” (Psalm 122:6, NLT)

  • To pray for peace is to pray for the security, flourishing, harmony, and righteousness of Israel.
  • To advocate is to speak out against the savage attacks upon families, neighborhoods, and a nation by Iran and its proxies Hamas and Hezbollah.
  • To advocate for the right to defend one’s self from the attackers and to rescue your family and citizens by saying so the press and our elected representatives.
  • To remember that since the United Nations approved the tiny nation of Israel after the horrors of the Holocaust, there have been evil men and women devoted to the destruction of the nation.
  • To show our support grieve with our Jewish friends and be present for them.

Yesterday, my message was about the power and blessing of building friendships with people of other faiths. Rabbi Lopatin, is a dear friend. I asked him share a thought for this post tonight. He is a tireless advocate for building bridges between Jewish and other religious communities.

“Jews around the world are devastated by the horrific murders and kidnappings in Israel; this was the worst daily toll of Jews killed since the holocaust and the pogroms of Europe come to mind with their hatred and destruction. But with the prayers and love of so many righteous Christians, we feel strong and hopeful, and know that one day, probably after some great struggles, peace will reign for the Jews in the Holy Land. Rabbi Asher Lopatin”

How will you pray? What are your thoughts? How could you advocate for Israel?

Peace!

    Dear Pastor,
I am praying with you and all the Christian people of this world who love Jesus and His people. Satan has meant this attack for disaster for the Jewish nation. However, our God is stronger than anything the enemy throws at us! He will bring glory to His name through this!
